The "City of Angels", Los Angeles is host to the 2002 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, the last competition prior to the 2002 Winter Olympics. Los Angeles has it all, the stars, the fame, and yes the best skaters in the U.S. as they continue their quest for the ultimate goal, to represent their country and compete for an Olympic Medal.
Palm trees and warm breezes beckons you to visit Los Angeles without the usual gloves and coats of competitions past. A city sightseeing tour will take you by Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, Mann's Chinese Theater, Walk of Fame, and to Universal City Walk.
In between skating events, you can visit Beverly Hills and shop at one of the famous boutiques such as Armani, Chanel, Christian Dior, Hermes, or Valentino on Rodeo drive. The downtown area offers a great selection of shops, and restaurants, Chinatown, and Little Tokyo. It is also home to the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Natural History Museum of LA County. You can ride the shortest railroad in the world, the historic Angel's Flight funicular railway that connects Grand Central Square to the Bunker Hill Area.
